Product Description

This listing is for Superior Doors - Particleboard core doors (Door leaf only)

For those who require a door with maximum impact resistance Superior Doors offer the MR Particle Board solid core option. The MR Particle Board Core is more moisture resistant than standard particle board and is the preferred core option for strength, durability and is the best core option for acoustic insulation.

Sizes range from  610-910mm X 1980mm.

Superior Doors offer a large standard range of skin thicknesses to accommodate a wide variety of needs. Thicker skins offer the benefits of a stronger, flatter, more durable door and provide a superior paint finish. The Pre-Primed skins use an Ultraviolet (UV) primer which is solvent and formaldehyde free, no V.O.C’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). This Pre-Priming solution is moisture and solvent resistant, also harder and more scratch resistant than standard and cheaper water based door priming solutions that are used by most other door manufacturers.

Multiple grooved and design options are available, and for those who want a genuinely bespoke feel to their living or work space Superior Doors offer custom grooving and vision panel services.

Manufacturer and Supplier Information - Superior Doors

Superior Doors is a family owned and operated business based in Auckland, New Zealand. Over the last 25 years, Superior Doors is proud to have grown to become the Country’s largest interior door manufacturer, using all New Zealand sourced and supplied raw materials.

Superior Doors was the first New Zealand door manufacturer to use ribbed polystyrene cores, offering far higher levels of impact resistance, integrity and thermal insulation when compared to the standard honeycomb hollow core doors.

Superior Doors invested heavily into new technologies, meaning that Superior Doors has one of the widest and most flexible ranges of products and sizes available. They can supply almost any custom or special size doors and are capable of manufacturing some of the largest oversized doors in New Zealand.

Application and Purpose

Superior Doors are suitable for use as interior doors and exterior entry doors within the following scope:

  • in all classified uses of buildings where there are no specific fire requirements for doors; and,
  • in interior, protected environments, including domestic type wet areas; and
  • as entry doors when protected from the weather.

Installation and Maintenance

Store doors on a flat surface in a clean, dry, well ventilated environment, at least 2 metres away from heat and direct sunlight.

When hanging a door, allow for swelling of door or frame in extremely damp weather, and avoid finishing them too soon after rain, damp weather or during periods of higher than average humidity.

Use 4 hinges on all solid core doors. Hinges must be set in a straight line to prevent distortion. All of the doors manufactured by Superior Doors require sanding prior to finishing. Immediately after drilling, fitting and sanding, all surfaces of the door, including top, bottom and side edges, must receive a protective finish.
